Royal South Yarra Members have access to the Club's highly-qualified personal trainers.
Following an initial fitness assessment, the trainer develops a program based on the fitness goals of the Member.
Sessions are available on a week-by-week basis at a cost of $50.00 for a 30-minute session, $67.00 for a 45-minute session and $78.00 for a one-hour session. The one-off fitness assessment costs $45.00.
Members can also arrange to train in pairs with the following costs: two-on-one - $35.00 p.p (30min) - $40.00 p.p (45min) - $45.00 p.p (1hr).

Maxine Paholek
Maxine is one of RSY’s Personal Trainers, as well as a qualified Mat Pilates instructor and running coach. With a background as an elite NCAA athlete, she brings a high level of professionalism and performance knowledge to her coaching, while maintaining a warm and approachable training style.
Maxine takes a holistic approach to fitness, thoughtfully blending strength, mobility and performance-based principles to help members feel strong, confident and capable in their everyday lives. Her programs are designed to support long-term progress, injury prevention and overall wellbeing, regardless of training experience.
With a wide range of industry experience and full familiarity with Technogym equipment, Maxine creates sessions that are tailored, engaging and effective. Whether working one-on-one or in a group environment, she prides herself on delivering structured, enjoyable training that empowers members to move and perform at their best.
Samuel Dukic
Samuel is an accredited Exercise Scientist with experience working across all levels of ability. His background includes training elite athletes at Cricket Victoria, state-level track and field representatives, amateur football clubs (where he runs pre-season strength and conditioning programs), as well as individuals who are brand new to the gym environment.
Samuel’s training philosophy is grounded in relevant data and sound physiological principles, underpinned by strong foundations of trust, understanding, care and communication. This approach allows him to truly understand his clients and help them achieve the best possible outcomes.
Samuel was drawn to coaching through his own drive to continually improve as an athlete and his passion for all aspects of training. His mission is to help every client experience the same sense of achievement and motivation each time they walk into a session. Outside of coaching, Samuel enjoys playing cricket and Aussie Rules, watching live sport and staying active.
Marc Mano
You may have already seen this friendly face behind the bar at RSY. PT by day, Marc is a Fit Rec registered Personal Trainer and a final-year Exercise and Sports Science student at Swinburne University.
Marc is driven by a genuine passion for helping people succeed, which sits at the heart of his holistic and motivational coaching style. His focus is on building confidence, independence, and long-term enjoyment of training, while always prioritising movement quality and technical precision, no shortcuts when it comes to sustainable progress.
Marc has worked with a wide range of goals and individuals, and he takes pride in adapting his approach to suit each person. The aim is always the same: real results, improved consistency, and a stronger, more confident you.
Ed Macdonald
Ed is a Personal Trainer with over 14 years’ experience helping people get stronger, fitter, and more confident in the gym.
He’s worked across corporate gyms, commercial settings, and performance environments and brings a practical, results-driven approach to training. Ed specialises in strength and conditioning, working with everyone from general population clients through to athletes.
Alongside PT, he’s also delivers strength and conditioning programs for schools and amateur football clubs, helping athletes improve performance, reduce injury risk, and build solid foundations.
Whether your goals are fat loss, muscle gain, or just want to train with intent with a sustainable lifestyle at the forefront, Ed keeps things simple, effective, and focused on long-term results.
Sharn Hegan
Sharn has been working as a Personal Training since 2004, bringing over two decades of experience to her clients. She began her career with one-on-one training sessions and went to work in large commercial gyms where she led a wide range of group fitness classes including Spin, HIIT, Circuit, Boxing & Strength Conditioning.
With a strong passion for core strength training and as a mother herself, a deep understanding of women's health, Sharn has completed a Certificate in Pre and Postnatal Training - an area she continues to specialise in. More recently, she expanded her expertise by completing a Postmenopausal Training course, focused on supporting women aged 50 and over to stay active, strong, and confident while working toward their individual fitness goals.
