Enjoy Squash at Royal South Yarra
Royal South Yarra has two squash courts and conducts regular social and competition events including the annual Squash Club Championships and Club Circuit (Pennant Squash).
The courts are located on level one adjacent to the change rooms and are available to all members with sporting facility rights.
Visitors are also welcome but must be signed in by an RSY Member and are required to pay the guest fee.
Court bookings can be made online, or by calling Administration during business hours and the Courtyard Bar after 5.00pm.
The Squash Club Championships are played in May, with members entering a range of open and handicap events.
Club Circuit competition, played against other respected Melbourne-based clubs, takes place on a set weeknight for home games, and alternating nights for away games. Players should arrive at the courts by 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start. Four-person teams each play five games, with all games concluding when one team reaches nine points.
Supper and drinks are served following the completion of the games and are supplied by the host team. Teams alternate in scoring and umpiring matches.
Competition is open to men and women of all abilities. Members should note many current competition squash players come from a tennis playing background and had little or no squash experience when they first began playing competitive squash.
